Frequently asked questions
Is devissolaire.lu free?
Yes. Asking for quotes is free and without obligation. You decide whether you accept one of the offers.
Who receives my request?
Solar installation companies established in Luxembourg that work with us – at most three per request. They receive your request by e-mail to prepare a quote and contact you. We do not sell your data and we do not keep your request.
How much does a solar installation cost in Luxembourg?
For a house, a turnkey installation usually costs between 1 500 € and 2 200 € per kWp including VAT, depending on the roof, the panels and the inverter. A 10 kWp system therefore costs roughly 15 000 € to 22 000 € before subsidies.
How much is the Klimabonus for solar panels?
For a new self-consumption installation of at least 2 kWp, the State pays P × (1 155 − 33 × P) €, where P is the peak power in kWp, up to 10 000 € from 15 kWp. A battery of at least 2 kWh adds up to 2 250 €. The aid can never exceed the real cost.
Do I have to pay the full price first?
No. With prefinancing, your installer deducts the Klimabonus directly from the final invoice and claims it from the State. The deposit on the price is limited to at most 30 %; the installer must be registered for prefinancing.
Can I still sell my electricity to the grid?
With the Klimabonus you give up the guaranteed feed-in tariff for the lifetime of the installation; the electricity is meant for your own consumption. Surplus can still be sold at market price through your supplier.
Does my commune pay an extra subsidy?
Most communes do, as a percentage of the Klimabonus, a fixed amount or an amount per kWp. See the page of your commune; the commune usually pays after the installation, on request.
How do you know what my roof can produce?
We use the national solar cadastre published on geoportail.lu by the State. It gives, for each building, the usable roof area, the expected yearly production and the maximum power. An installer confirms it on site.
Is a solar installation worth it in Luxembourg?
With today's subsidies and electricity prices, a self-consumption installation usually pays for itself in 6 to 10 years and produces for 25 years or more. A battery or charging an electric car increases the share you use yourself.
Do I need a building permit?
Panels on the roof of a house usually need no permit, but some communes or protected areas have rules. Your installer checks this and also registers the installation with the grid operator (Creos or your local network operator).
